Violence against Women Act (VAWA)

VAWA (Violence against Women Act) is a United States federal law. Violence against Women was prepared and adopted following broad-based efforts in early 1990, with professional services to victims on the ground, police, prosecutors, courts and private attorneys urging Congress to approve the main laws against domestic violence. Since its initial approval in 1994, VAWA was expanded approach to meeting, in addition to domestic violence, violence, sexual assault and harassment. That funds protective services for adults, teens and children victims of these crimes, and supports training on these issues to ensure a coherent response across the country. One of the biggest hits of the VAWA is the emphasis on a coordinated community response to domestic violence, violence, sexual assault and harassment, courts, police, prosecutors, victim services and private attorneys are working together in a coordinated effort that had previously existed at the national and local levels. Actually VAWA is a very powerful law that was passed to protect spouses and abused children. In addition, VAWA has very clear provisions to protect migrants in abusive relationships to lose their status in the U.S. or get deported from the United States.

VAWA also supports the work of community organizations that are dedicated to working to end domestic violence, violence, sexual assault and harassment, particularly groups that provide specific cultural and linguistic. In addition, VAWA provides specific support to work with tribes and tribal organizations to end domestic violence, violence, sexual assault and harassment against indigenous women.
Note that VAWA petitions can be filed before or during the process of removal (deportation).further information on VAWA visit on Global Visas Fraud Department.
